BONJOUR,

I’M MORGANE — the French creative behind Petite Visuals.

I grew up in Brittany, studied film and analog photography, then went on to study Creative Arts and Advertising in Edinburgh, worked in marketing and graphic design in the south of France before eventually making my home in rural Victoria. Somewhere between those places, accents, landscapes and ideas, I found my way back into photography — not as a perfectly planned career path, but as the most natural way I knew to observe people, emotion, beauty, chaos and all the strange little moments in between.

My background spans more than weddings. Over the past 12+ years, I’ve worked across photography, videography, fashion, editorial, events, art direction and commercial storytelling — from campaign work and creative production to documentary-style coverage and film/TV stills. My work has taken me between Australia and Europe, and has included fashion and creative direction projects, regional storytelling, editorial features, commercial clients, and personal work.

All of that experience feeds into how I approach weddings.

I don’t really see myself as someone who simply “takes wedding photos.” I see weddings as living, breathing stories — full of movement, sound, texture, personality and feeling. My work is photography-led, but not restricted to one medium. I might use digital, analog film, Polaroids, motion, sound, art direction, hand-altered imagery or scanned pieces created from the day itself — whatever helps tell the story honestly. That’s what the ‘Visuals’ part of my business stands for. The ‘Petite’ refers to my height (I’m a grounded 1.51cm!)

My style sits somewhere between documentary photography, cinema, nostalgia and a bit of editorial attitude: relaxed when it needs to be, gently directed when it helps, and always led by the feeling of the moment rather than a fixed formula.

So if you’re after perfectly polished, copy-and-paste wedding coverage, I’m probably not your gal. But if you want your celebration documented with instinct, creativity, humour, a little French chaos and a lot of heart — we might be a very good fit.

MY PHILOSOPHY / PROCESS

I have started with the idea that there was a specific way of being a wedding photographer. That there was specific photos that we had to take, that there was a very specific way of taking them. That there was very specific gear to use etc.

I purposefully tried to do the same thing as others, and doing what I thought was expected of me as a wedding photographer.

Turns out, I WAS WRONG. That's not my way.

I immensely grew when I actually realised that I wasn't a wedding photographer, but I was a person who loves documenting moments, might it be at weddings, in the street, in a studio for a fashion shoot.

I really found my process when I didn't have this pressure of fitting into a box anymore, with these ideas of what wedding photos should look like.
